AB Meet the Candidates 2024

In 2023, the AB resolved (Member-only link) to:

  • Use the Member Meeting during election for a “Meet the Candidates” session as matter of policy.
  • Send out a written questionnaire early in the election cycle to give time for everyone to respond.
  • Use the wiki to record responses, and to update with questions from the Member-led meeting.
  • Ask for Team volunteers each election to manage the organization of the questionnaires and set up the wiki pages.
  • Be careful with the transcription of the “Meet the Candidates” session (e.g. give participants and the scribe opportunities to correct the minutes).

In 2024, due to the late timing of the Member Meeting, we'll be holding a separate "Meet the Candidates" session earlier to give the AC and Candidates proper time before and after the session.

Questions

  1. What priorities should the AB take on in the next year? How will you help accomplish them?
  2. The AB positions are unpaid but require regular meetings at inconvenient times/locations, preparation for said meetings, and collaboration with people you might disagree with. Why do you personally wish to take this on?
  3. How do you think W3C should build consensus in large groups, and can you speak to your ability & experience building consensus (at W3C or elsewhere)?
  4. How can W3C improve its diversity and inclusion, and what is the role of the AB in improving those?
  5. The AB has been working on the Vision for W3C, as a member of the AB how would you put the Vision into practice? How might it impact our decision making or priorities?
